Design:

The Ace falls in between the Premium and Budget range of mobile phones available in the Indain market. This does not mean that Samsung has cut its costs on design. The design of Samsung Ace is sturdy compared to the premium range Galaxy S. The plastic metallic band around the squared edges definitely renders it an aesthetic look. A good feature adapted from Apple s iPhone. It boosts of a 3.5-inch TFT HVGA (320×480) screen that feels a bit smaller in hand, but definitely not a drawback since the actual display size is similar to an iPhone 4.

The rear side of Ace is a boon. No glossy black plastic here, it’s a very matte ridged surface on offer. The thickness of the phone is 11.5 mm as opposed to 9mm thick GALAXY S.
A good point for the mid-budget buyers is that Ace is the closest resemblance to the GALAXY S patriarch. So, the buyers can get the GALAXY S feel without shedding premium bucks.

Android Market and Perfect Social Hub:

Galaxy Ace by default comes with Android 2.2 OS (Froyo), which is fantastic. Any upgrade to higher OS is not guaranteed but since you have Froyo, you have little to worry. Google services like real time Push Gmail, GTalk, YouTube, Calendar, Android Music and Video player, Android Market are present without any question. Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI, whether you like it or not, covers the Froyo UI, adding a cool app like Social Hub.

For Office work, the ThinkFree Office suite that came in Galaxy S appears here too.

Hardware:

The super snappy 1Gz Hummingbird processor of GALAXY S is gone, and enters an 800 MHz processor for GALAXY ACE. RAM comes down from 500MB to 158MB and Internal memory from 8GB to 2GB. The front camera is gone missing but hey, there’s flash at the back along side 5 MP camera.
The camera performs decently as compared to its same-priced counterparts. The flash is definitely an addendum.

The phone performed smoothly on a trial hands-on. No lag, crash was encountered.

As of the battery goes, 1350mAh is supposed to perform well. The only concern is will the battery be able to endure the unending application runs on this Android phone.

Quicktype:

It comes with a Swype keyboard that offers effortless typing.
